Magic of the 'Narrow Eating Window'

Thanks for dropping in! Today’s message expands on a weight loss and weight management method I’ve touched upon in prior emails. It’s not a fad. I don’t promote such things. It is in fact a healthy behavior we can all adopt—one that will allow for weight loss despite eating the wrong foods, and without counting calories. Too good to be true? No! Not entirely. Read on!

Have your cake, and eat it?

Seriously?

Eating the wrong foods and losing weight seems like an impossible proposition. And if you are familiar with my dietary philosophy, this may seem like I’m about to embark on a monumental contradiction. So here is an important disclaimer:

  • This alone is NOT the best or healthiest way to drop pounds. (I’ll cover what is later on in this newsletter.)

  • If you are not yet ready to change your unhealthy food selections—this is way better than doing nothing.

Here we go…

Intermittent Fasting and the Narrow Eating Window

A little discipline - big payoff.

The way to make this magic work is to limit your eating to a small part of the 24 hour daily cycle. This is called intermittent fasting or having a narrow eating window. The above illustration shows an 8 hr. eating window. This simply means you delay your first meal until at least 11am, and don’t eat ANYTHING after 7 pm. And you can, in fact, eat whatever you like in whatever quantity you wish across that 8 hr period. This way, every 24 hours your body will have a fasting period of 16 hours. During that 16 hour period your body will start to burn fat. Make this your daily, ongoing, lifestyle habit.

True or False? - Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Answer - False. This is corporate breakfast cereal propaganda.

The example of the 8 hr. window shown is just one of many versions you can adopt. You could, for example, have an even narrower window, delaying your first meal until early afternoon. The narrower the window, the longer the fast period, and the better this method will work. And not only will this method cause you to burn stored fat, it will also help, to a degree, to reduce the inflammatory effect that eating the wrong foods has on your body. If you do this one thing religiously you will see results over time. You simply need to make this your daily approach to food.

Work Out Before Your first Meal

If you have an exercise routine, do it prior to your first meal in your eating window. The more vigorous the workout, the better. Exercise on an empty stomach will switch on the primal genes that cause your body to burn fat and build muscle…the same way it worked for our earliest ancestors who had to go out and hunt and gather BEFORE they ate! (And none of them struggled with their weight!)

Work for your food!

Yep. You can have your cake and eat it with a narrow eating window as your regular habit if you simply wish to slowly drop some weight. Add-in the pre-first-meal exercise and the Paleo diet, and you will have the keys to the kingdom. Put these three together RELIGIOUSLY and this is what you can expect:

  • Drop weight/burn fat

  • More energy

  • Less joint pain

  • Breathe better

  • Sleep better

  • Greater mental clarity

  • Begin reversing chronic inflammatory diseases
