The Culprit

Imagine a stack of ice-cream sandwiches on a hot day. The ice-cream is soft and a bit melty. Now push down on the stack. See what is happening to the ice-cream sandwich on the top? The compressive force is squeezing the ice-cream out.

This is not entirely different from what is happening in your spine when you have a herniated disc. Look at the illustration below.

Discs don’t like compression. Compression over time can lead to disc damage. Damaged discs don’t like compression even more. Too much compression can cause discs to herniate. See the arrow above. That is the gel-filled center of the disc protruding out—like the ice-cream in the first picture. And as long as there is compression going on, it is very hard if not impossible for your body to heal from this. That protrusion can ‘pinch’ a nerve which is the cause of the associated leg pain and what many call ‘neuropathy’. The same condition can also occur in your neck, however it is most common in the lower back.

Homo-Sit-Piens

Broken chairs—broken backs

Biologists call our species Homo Sapiens. We have become Homo-Sit-Piens. Our bodies were not designed for prolonged sitting chairs. Sitting is…

…COMPRESSIVE!

Too much sitting is the major cause of disc failure and subsequent disc herniation. Ongoing compressive forces in your lifestyle will perpetuate and WORSEN this problem!!!!

Disc problems can also be due to injury from improper lifting or a blow to the body like in a car accident. But the ongoing compressive force of gravity, made worse by things like sitting, will prevent this kind of injury from healing - and in many cases, simply make it WORSE OVER TIME.

Compression Bad—Decompression Good!

The ‘rack’

If you have a disc problem you need to be decompressed. There are many methods far less drastic than what is depicted above. We have the best.

We have a modern, comfortable, effective, and highly affordable decompression-table program. And when combined with manual (hands on) decompression, chiropractic adjustments, and home decompression exercises, we can get results like the one below:

Shrunken “ice-cream’ protrusion!

The graphic above is one of our own patients with a serious disc herniation. The blob cross-hatched on yellow in the protrusion. The before and after benefits are visually obvious.

On the Level

If you are someone you love is looking like the before picture above…you won’t get better without a proper decompression program. We have it for you. And I promise you, it is more affordable than what our competitors offer.

There aint no pill, or potion that’s going to fix this. Surgery is a terrible, last resort gamble. Call us! (727) 787-3991
